EAA Chapter 517 is sponsoring an art contest to promote interest in aviation and encourage teens (and their parents) to join the Experimental Aircraft Association and Chapter 517. Entrants may submit any of:
NOTE: Multiple items will be accepted, but only one prize will be awarded to a single entrant.
RULES: Entrants must be residents of Montana and between the ages of 14 and 17 during the promotion, which runs from 6/9/2009 through 8/17/2009. You are eligible if you were born between August 17, 1991 and August 17, 1995. Entrants will be eligible to win only one prize.

Entries must be received before noon on August 17, 2009 at the above address or delivered to Chapter 517's hanger at Stevensville Municipal Airport between 5:00pm and 6:00pm on that date.. The entries must be marked with the entrant's name and phone number, and whether the entry will be picked up after the drawing: Entries marked to be returned must be picked up after the drawing or at the above address. All entries not so marked or not picked up within 30 days become the property of EAA Chapter 517.
Winners will be selected at the membership drive meeting, to be held at Chapter 517's hanger at the Stevensville Municipal Airport (32S), 6:00pm, August 17. A BBQ will be held for all attendees. Entries will be on display during the event. The contest will be judged by EAA 517 members, including new members who join at the meeting. Voting will take place between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, after which the winners will be announced. Members can vote for one entry. Simple, one member; one vote. Entrants need not be present to win.
PRIZES: Prizes awarded will be certificates of monetary value to be applied toward aircraft rental and flight instruction. Any teen, regardless of age, can take flight instruction with a certified flight instructor: 14-year-olds are eligible to solo in gliders and earn a glider license, 16-year-olds can be approved by a certified flight instructor to solo in powered aircraft, and 17-year-olds can earn a private, recreational, or sport pilot license.
